Who we are
The founders have nearly 50 years experience in how to avoid unnecessary litigation, and of using ADR. Gained through working within the legal services market, we are now able to bring this experience directly to business.
This is why Shelton House has been set up.
Peter Ashdown - Barr
Peter has worked very closely with lawyers in law firm management and as a Costs Lawyer with a number of major litigation firms since the mid-1970s supporting and challenging legal costs disputes following lengthy commercial litigation.
In 2000 Peter qualified with CEDR (the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution) as a Mediator and set up InterMediation, which was subsequently acquired by the InterResolve Group, where he was CEO for some twelve years. InterResolve handled thousands of
claims and disputes, particularly through the London Insurance market, but also with individual businesses.
Peter then went into semi-retirement and continued to help individual businesses resolve disputes. In all Peter has had some 25 years challenging litigation cases and over 20 years practicing ADR.
