Founder

Our founder Peter Ashdown Barr created Shelton House having seen a real need for an alternative to instructing lawyers. Peter worked closely with major litigation firms as a costs lawyer since the mid 1970’s and in 2000 qualified as a CEDR mediator. Peter went on to set up InterMediation which was subsequently bought by InterResolve Group where he was CEO for some 12 years. Inter Resolve handled thousands of claims and disputes through the London Insurance Market and with Individual businesses using ADR. Peter has gone on to help individual businesses resolve disputes using his specialist ADR experience, He set up Shelton House with like-minded and experienced professionals to continue this mission of helping business owners settle disputes early and cost efficiently.

Fees

Wherever possible, we work on a no settlement, no fee basis, supported by a modest initial assessment fee. If your dispute settles, we charge an agreed percentage of the settlement value, subject to a minimum success fee.

Where settlement value is difficult to quantify, we agree a fair equivalent in advance.

For more complex matters, we may agree a fixed or hourly arrangement.

All fees are agreed upfront. You remain in control at every stage.
